Well, I have to say, I am really considering switching to affiliate marketing permanently. I mean, just look at these numbers. March was great! I should have done this years ago!

Again, this was the website I talked about in a previous post, that I threw up and ignored until I saw some decent revenue, then I starting really working it and it blew up.

I’ll have to write a book on Affiliate Marketing as well haha! Apparently I am pretty good at it!

Any other Affiliates out there that switched from SEO to Affiliate Marketing full time? Let me know!

That’s right folks. I’m finally doing it. I will be releasing The Ultimate Whitehat SEO Manual very soon. This will be a ebook/video series that explains how to do completely whitehat SEO that kicks the shit of of ANY blackhat techniques, AND will NEVER get you banned from Google. I think after this last Google update, it’s time for people to start doing things the right way.

I recently had a website I own jump to the #5 position for a million+ search term. All the competitors that were previously on the first page had vanished, and when the dust settled, there was little old me, the guy that doesn’t cheat. Awww, I feel so bad for them. NOT!

So to give you guys a preview, I’m going to include a little excerpt from one of the chapters. This is an introduction to REAL Blog Commenting, not Spamming.

Blog commenting:

The goal of this task is to comment on related blogs to your industry. The comments must be genuine and contribute to the conversation. The best way to get a comment approved and to further correspondence is to ask a question in your comment that you think others would love to know. Don’t think about “getting a link” here, just think about participating in your industry and it will all fall into place. Don’t worry about pagerank and all that. Just look for blogs with decent Alexa rankings. I will show you more about that later.

When deciding what anchor to use, always check the existing approved comments. If the blog is approving comments that have anchor text, then go ahead and use anchor text. If all the approved comments are people’s names, then just use your name. Don’t worry about optimized anchors and nofollow/dofollow. You need imperfect diversity, and this is where you will get it.

Also, try to comment on posts that are less than 2 weeks old. You will have a better chance of getting them approved, and once you are approved for one comment, the blog owner may automatically approve your comments for other pages on his blog. Now you can comment on older posts and starting participating in his blog regularly. Just keep it useful and relevant. Always be passive, never get into an argument, and if someone calls you out or pisses you off, just be apologetic and passive. Once you say something, it’s there forever.

You can keep track of what blogs approve your comments by using my software, Backlink Inventory.
Also, remember that if you genuinely contribute useful comments to a blog with a large readership, and you look like you know what you are talking about, you will get tons of traffic to your blog from people that find what you have to say interesting.

Make sure once you get a comment approved on a site, you stick with the same anchor, email, and URL.
If you can’t use an optimized anchor, try to use your company name, most blog owners will let you get away with this. Try to build a relationship with the blog owner and other frequent commenters. It will pay off.
Always use an Avatar through Gravatar.

If you would like to recieve updates on when the Book will be available, join my mailing list on the top right of this website.

Ok so lately I have been getting more into affiliate marketing. I picked a niche, made a GOOD website, and began the ranking process. This took about 3-4 months, but I was pretty surprised with the results.

So far, its the 20th of Febuary, so 20 days and I have made $12,028.89 so far this month. See the screen shot below.

Now, check this out.

I didn’t have to deal with any clients

I didn’t have to hear “When will my rankings improve” 20 times a week

I didn’t have to worry about a client not doing what I told them to do to help thier campaign

I didn’t have to do JACK, except what I am good at. SEO

The point? Screw clients. They are a pain in the ass anyway. Why not switch to affiliate marketing? I mean, on average I charged a client 8-10k a month for SEO. Within 4 months, I am making 12k with ONE site, and I don’t have to put up with the bullcrap. Plus it didnt take even 1/4th the time it would have taken on a client site, because I control everything! Clients just get in the way of you doing your job.

If you are an SEO, and you have a little money to play with, consider affiliate marketing.

I will leave this post open for discussion. Also, I was thinking of maybe writing an ebook on SEO for Affiliate Marketing. Everyone seems to be doing that these days, and most of those books are garbage. Maybe I’ll write a good one, with actual information that works.

Wonder if anyone would buy it? Thoughts?

Many people shun Press Releases because they feel they are too expensive and it won’t get the phone ringing. The reality is, press releases are GREAT for backlinks, especially multi tiered backlinks.

With only one press release, I generate a multi tiered pyramid of backlinks to my website. This means, I wrote a press release with backlinks pointed to my website, then thousands of other website republished the press release and republished those that republished . . . and so on.

I ended up with backlinks pointed to my website, and backlinks pointed to those backlinks, and backlinks pointed to those backlinks, for a total of 2,040 backlinks in fewer than 2 days. I will probably acquire thousands more in the next few days.

UPDATE: Only a week later I have over 11,000 Backlinks!!!!

This is a link pyramid in essence, and is very powerful for SEO and Google rankings. I jumped to the first page in ONE day. I used PrWeb to distribute this release. See the video below for my Case Study.

This was accomplished through Prweb, and I recommend them for press releases because I have tried many others and none get the re-distribution like this one does. You can check out Prweb’s plans by
visiting thier website.

So many people make SEO really complicated. They read about No-Follow vs. Do-Follow Backlinks, outbound Backlinks on a page, domain Pagerank vs. actual page Pagerank, etc. Stop the madness!

What you guys are forgetting is that Google’s algorithm is meant to detect “Natural” link building. Google gives Natural Linkage the most power in the SERPS. If you are only getting Do-Follow Backlinks with less than 20 outbound links on a page with a PR of 4 or more, you’re probably not going to beat your competitor that has those Backlinks, PLUS a bunch of PR 0 No-Follow Backlinks.

You need No-Follow Backlinks

Natural linkage has a mixture. I recall when I first started in SEO, we had a client that could not get above #5 for their main keyword on Google. They had PR 6 Do-Follow Backlinks out the wazoo, while their competitors only had a few high PR back Backlinks. However, their competitors ALSO had a ton of crappy little PR 0 Backlinks and a ton of No-Follow Backlinks.

So, we started commenting on No-Follow WordPress blogs, and throwing a ton of No-Follow Signature Backlinks from forums at our Client’s website. Guess what happened? Two weeks later they were #1 on Google for their main keyword.

You see, all those supposedly “low quality” backlinks actually give your high quality backlinks more power. The more diverse and “mixed” your backlink structure is, the more power your High Quality Backlinks will have.

Don’t ignore No-Follow blogs, forums, and Web 2.0 Communities.

Hell, I remember one website I owned that I had abandoned for about 6 months. It was stuck on page 2 of Google for a long time. I began commenting on about 15 Squidoo pages that resulted in 15 No-Follow links. I saw rankings shoot up almost immediately, and nothing else but the Squidoo comments was done to that website. The website ended up at Number 4 on Google about three weeks later.

A perfect SEO plan is one that is intentionally imperfect. Natural linkage is far from perfect. So stop being a perfectionist! Sort of . . .

Marketers spend hundreds of dollars on Craigslist Advertsing!

For the sake of a quick sale, Internet marketers are turning to Craigslist to offer products on a national basis. Most of these are services like web design, logo design, legal counsel, or even physic readings.

The problem is, in order to post enough ads to really get any sizable results, the marketer is forced to spend alot of money on dozens or hundreds of Craigslist Phone Verified accounts so that they may post in mass. This is against Craigslist Terms of Service and is not recommended as a long term solution to marketing for several reasons:

Craigslist kills these accounts very quickly.

Craigslist users are pretty much the nickel and dimers of society, so expect alot of haggling.

Many PVA “suppliers” simply steal your money.

It’s against the rules!

The solution? Instead of spending $500 per week on PVA accounts, why not spend $500 per month on a more viable solution such as SEO and get leads and sales for years to come. To be honest, Craigslist is probably on the way out, just as myspace has begun to decline in popularity. Too much spam has caused Craigslist to tighten its policies so much that the honest user cant use Craigslist without getting frustrated.

Focusing on Google Map rankings, and organic search rankings is a much more profitable solution in the long run.

Go to the Google Local Business Center and create an account.

Use the keyword for your business name. So if you want to rank for “Attorney Tampa”, and you’re a lawyer named John Smith, make your business name something like, “Attorney Tampa John Smith”. Don’t worry if this is not technically your company name, just do it okay

Fill out as much information as possible including business hours and payments accepted. Also upload photos.

Verify your listing by phone with Google.

Ask current customers to post reviews on your listing. Make sure to send them the URL to your listing so its easy for them to do.
